Well the third one got married at age 41 and started trying for a family right away... nothing happened, went to fertility treatment and all and eventually gave up. She is a very successful woman, and decided along with her husband to continue with her career.
When she was 51, by surprise, SHE GOT PREGNANT!!!!

British comedienne, Jo Brand, known over here for being overweight and apparently man hating, married at 40 and had her first child at 43 and her 2nd at 45... with what she called a "casual" attitude to ttc!

Hi, I just wanted to remind us 'geriatrics' who are TTC, that my grandmother had her last child -- au natural -- at 41. My cousin's grandmother had her last child at 44 all natural!! Each of my parents have 10 siblings in their family, and back in the early part of the 20th century, women were having children into their 40s frequently. It just didn't become a major topic, because these same women were raising 10 other kids!! They had no idea when they ovulated (or what that was??), what their hormone levels were, or when to time sex. Yet, they were having babies just the same!

I also have a grandmother who had her #7 at 39, her #8 at 41 and her #9 (last) at 47.

My mother had me at the age of 40 after not being pregnant for more than 15 years! She had had three children one after another when she was 22, 23, & 24 years old and me at 40 and a miscarriage at 49.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
