New mums will be paid double wages for the first six weeks after they return to work as part of a 20-week paid maternity leave scheme at a major insurer.

Insurance Australia Group relationships manager Rebecca Isaachsen, 43 years old, pregnant with her third child, said the maternity leave bonus would make life easier.

This will take away the financial worry, she said. This could be the difference in the choice between having kids and not having kids.
