About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.

The stories on here are quite inspiring, gives me and my partner hope at least.

We got BFP at age 42, but it was ectopic, we never realised until too late and had to lose a fallopian tube, on the dominant side.

Since then we have tried almost everything, chinese herbs, my partner couldn't stomach them for more than say 3/4 Months. We've tried the following and are still on some of them:

inositol powder - not using anymore
    Vit D
    5mg Folic

    Yoga - not doing anymore
Reflexology - cant get booked due to covid
Mindfulness - not done this for a while
Hypnotherapy - I'm doing it for stress

We also tried IVF and it failed after getting really good results from egg collection etc. Doctor was very negative as we were 43 so we are looking at another clinic who specifically has good results with older women. All checks of ovaries/insides seems to have been fine, good AMH level for age etc.

Not holding out much hope now, nothing has worked even remotely, no signs of any further conception, not even chemical, not that I wish this on anyone.

Having suspected pcos, problem with weight gain causing anovulatory cycles we are trying to keep weight down and lose as much as we can, but that is also a real struggle.

Seem to have been stuck at the same weight for the last 2 years, the diet we used before to lose about 6 stone isn't working as well either. I've put on 5 stone and have totally lost my libido.

Not meaning to sound negative but this just the way it is some time.
