I am 8 weeks pregnant at 44

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Thursday, June 12, 2008 | 0 comments

Hi, I was so glad to find this site, I am so sick of hearing (what are you thinking) and (have you lost your mind) by people, thinking I am too old to be having a baby.

My name is Bobbi, I am 44 from Elkhart, Indiana, I have been married for 24 1/2 years, and I have 6 kids. Jason 28, Heather 23, Timothy 21, Bryson 12, William 10, Gunnar 8 and I am now 8 weeks pregnant - due November, 18th, 2006.

My son Jason's wife is due with their 1st child October14th, 2006, and I already have 4 other grandchildren. My husband and I are so excited about this baby, and all we get from our (so called) friends and co workers are how crazy we are.

Thank you so much for this site it has made me feel better like I'm not a freak or something.

Statistics on mothers are not abundant. In total, 17,321 live births were registered, which is much fewer than thirty years ago when 28,625 children were born. Two mothers were under 15 years old, and 10 were over 45.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
