I am nearly 46 & pregnant

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Tuesday, April 15, 2008 | 0 comments

I am 45 (nearly 46) and pregnant - naturally (and unplanned) after only 2
months. I'm still fairly early (10 weeks) so feeling a little tentative, but all seems to be going well. -- Elizabeth

Yup, I'm 45 now... I'll be 46 in a week, all natural. (This is our second). Our first was conceived at 43, and had her at 44.

This baby is due May 2nd. I am roughly 32 weeks now.

I'm Pauline, and I am 46 with a son who just turned one year old. Congrat's!! You will find that many of us here have had children at 45 and older.

Mine was unplanned (was always told my eggs were immature), periods hardly ever, and when I turned 40, my body straightened itself out. At that time, I was married, but still no success.

Eventually divorced at 43, met someone wonderful, and conceived. Maybe it wasn't me.

During my OB [obstetrician] follow-up exam on Friday, my doctor said she has delivered healthy babies to 49 year old women recently.

I am 45 and 37 weeks pregnant with a boy conceived naturally. So far
all is looking good, and we are both healthy. My husband is 48, with a 20 year old daughter in college, so it is going to be an adventure.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
