I will be 49 when our baby is born

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Wednesday, April 18, 2007 | 1 comments

I am 48 years old and pregnant, will be 49 when our baby is born. What an experience, and it is great. Though I get tired, I have never felt better.

Here's more hope...... I am 47 and 33 weeks pregnant with my first. Also we just adopted to "older" (age 10 and 7) children from Russia this past February. Talk about instant family. My husband has two children from an earlier marriage age 27 and 23, and they are just thrilled to have new siblings.

I'm 46 and am 26 weeks pregnant with my first, due Nov 6 (just over a month before I turn 47!!!). Other than the nausea, everything has been fine. It's great to hear of other women in a similar position.

I'm 46 years old now, but I got pregnant naturally at 45 (last April 2005) and had a healthy beautiful baby girl on January 20, 2006. So, as you see, it is possible. I thought I was starting menopause, but then took a pregnancy test and found I was pregnant . Never used any kind of fertility treatments .

I am 43, soon to be 44 and 32 weeks pregnant with my eighth child. The age thing doesn't bother me at all. Regarding the health of children born of older women: I have read that older women just started, over the past 8 to 10 years or so having babies at older ages so they don't really have enough data to support greater birth defects in children birthed by older women.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.

I am so excited to hear about your baby. My husband and I have been trying since we married 7 years ago to concieve to no avail. But I know God works miracles, just look at you. I believe I to will have a baby. Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate. It is so good to hear something positve about conception naturally.
