Woman 47y, just found out she's pregnant naturally!!

Just wanted to say that there is a women who is 47 1/2 on an American site, and she just found out she is pregnant naturally!! So, if you're willing to watch and wait, you never know you may make it with your own eggs....

My new general practitioner is very supportive of our goal to have a family late in life. His experience and views are very refreshing. He was actually happy (in a way) to hear about the miscarriage, saying that it's very common to have one or two of these early failures before actually succeeding.

He said that in these cases, the uterus is getting "primed" and that we shouldn't be concerned or upset at all. In fact, it tells him that we both have what it takes to make a family. He also said the 50+ (quantity, that is) of over-40 (age) patients that he has referred to his clinic's Ob-Gyn have all had positive outcomes with no problems whatsoever.

My husband's mother was 47 when she conceived him naturally. So don’t give up hope - you never know what can happen. Stay positive.

I have twin sisters who are 45 tomorrow. One gave birth 15 months ago without any problems conceiving whatsoever (came off coil, first time had unprotected sex and got pregnant). Her twin has had 8 IVF cycles (one cancelled) and she gave birth 5 years ago and just 6 weeks ago, both IVF. She understands about the age thing and IVF. The other sister doesn't even think about it.

Don't believe what those doctors tell us. They're not always right about our *old eggs*...At 44....my dr. didn't think I had a chance in the world to conceive with an FSH of 15, but I just knew in my heart that she was wrong. I was almost 45 when I delivered my baby boy (he'll be 4 in March!). It took four cycles on Clomid to get pregnant.
