I will be 47 years old when this baby comes.

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Wednesday, October 18, 2006 | 0 comments

I am the mom with the 13 children. We just found out a few weeks ago I am expecting #14. I will be 47 years old when this baby comes. The whole family is thrilled. I am excited as I thought #13 was it since she is almost 3 and I have never gone that long our whole marriage without being pregnant. Not to mention my body was sending pre-menopausal signals. - Laurie

God certainly does work in mysterious ways, I was infertile since I was 25 and told I could never have any more children, and remained infertile till the age of 44. However, I have had since then 2 losses at age 44 and 45, and two losses at age 47 (Jan this year and now). If that is not mysterious I don't know what is! - Fiona

After many years of trying, and being inspired by Julia's book and all of your stories, my husband and I are finally pregnant. Our endocrinologist told us it would be a miracle if we ever achieved a pregnancy on our own. Shows you what they know! The baby is due in February. I turn 45 in August. It can happen! - Acacia

I am 44 too. Did the test yesterday and it's positive. I am so worried about this pregnancy and want to find a good care starting from now, not when I'll be 8 weeks pregnant. - Christina

My friend, Julie, 44, is two months pregnant. Early days yet, I know, but at least it proves it can happen.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
