My favourite author's wife had two, at 44 and 48!

Over the years, I have heard about so many women who had babies in their 40's. My favourite author's wife had her last two at 44 and 48! My backyard neighbour had one at 50 when I was growing up, and my great aunt had her last at 46.

I have a good friend who is the youngest of 10 children. Her mother had her sister when she was 43 and had her when she was 48!

I know a lady who lives locally to us who had her little girl at 46!! She is a lovely child & her Mum is one of the happiest I've met

I conceived with my 41/2 month baby girl when I was 43. I conceived the first month of trying but had a miscarriage. She was conceived straight after. I didn’t even have a period in between so we were never completely sure of when she would arrive. Pregnancy went fine

I am 47 years young. I conceived naturally back in February earlier this year. I did not have a happy ending however. I miscarried on March 31. But my point is that there is hope. I haven't given up and am willing to try until menopause sets in.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
