One of my best friends in high school was the 7th child, the oops child. Her mother was 52 when she was born. There is a 13 year gap between her and the 6th child.

The woman in the next room had delivered her 5th at the age of 45. (same age as my mother-in-law then) . My best friend has her first at 41, then twins less than 2 years later. Nothing wrong with being an older mom.

I have four children, Their ages are 27, 22 & 20 years and 29 months. I am 46, which made me 44 when my youngest was born, it was not a easy to accept the fact that I was going to be a mom again after so long.

Women have been having babies well into their 40s for a long time. You can't have 10 or 12 kids, like they did at the turn of the century, and not be 40! Do the math!

I had my God given twins at 37 years old after thinking I would never get pregnant and surprised with another at 42. I say it depends on the woman.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
