Baby after 55 - and she was a surprise!

Baby after 55 - Well, I just recently gave birth to a beautiful healthy 8lbs baby girl. She is my fifth child. Her name is Sarah, and boy did she make my stomach HUGE for this one! And she was a surprise. When I found out I was pregnant, I had been having strange mood swings, and sweating, and feeling light-headed. And I was nauseous off and on. We sure didn't realize I was pregnant. Not until I saw my doctor! I am actually 56 years old, and yes we did think that it was either menopause or maybe even another health problem developing, but we were wrong!

Anita and Ovistano Favela contributed to the post-war baby boom exactly 11 times: during 1946, '48, '50, '52, '54, '55, '58, '61, '63, '64 and '69. She was born Dec. 18, 1921, to Trinidad and Paula Juarez in Jerez, Mexico, the sixth of 11 children. (That means her last 4 children were born when she was 40, 42, 43 & 48!)

Maternity Ward show last night - Just as I was getting annoyed because of the 14 year old giving birth they went to a women 45 years old giving birth on the show last night.

She said it wasn't planned and her body was sore through the pregnancy. But a healthy baby and healthy mom were the outcome.

She made a comment about having a shirt printed up that said something on the lines of "yes I'm 45 and yes I am pregnant and now we are done".

I'm taking that as people must have given their wonderful, no brainer comments to her throughout her pregnancy.

My mom is now 52 and my youngest sibling is 3! I am #2 of 7 from my mom. We are 30, 27, 25, 13, 10, 7, and 3. My mom had healthy pregnancies, even with the last 4. She got a lot of weird looks the past few pregnancies. I remember when I was with her when my 13 year old brother was a baby (I was 13 at the time), some people made snotty comments about "teenagers having babies". They never even thought that MAYBE he was my brother and not mine. Anyway, my point is that you can be happy and healthy and have babies, even in your 40's

I got pregnant at 46 yrs old. I am only completing my 4th week.
