Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Sunday, March 26, 2006 | 0 comments

My great-grandma had 2 kids in her late 40's and fell off of her bike at 96 and broke her hip and died. My grandma had 17 kids with the last two being at 50 and 52 respectively and kicked my royal butt in pool at 76 years of age. She died in her late 90's as well...

I mentioned a friend giving away her baby because she feels too old to look after it. She is 57 and thought it was menopause. Well she had an ultrasound the other day, and she is 12 weeks pregnant with TWINS!!!! 57 AND TWINS...

I am 45 years old. This is my husband’s and my first baby. I too was told by my docs with a FSH of 65 and high TSH that TTC was not going to happen.. Well I am here to tell all of our sisters on this site - dream the impossible!

I just wanted to add that my nan had my Mum at age 48, normal pregnancy & birth, although they pulled all her teeth out after because they said they'd crumble! (it was 1950!)

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
