Image: Surprise Baby, by Arek Socha on PixabayDr. Death had me in tears for days because he insisted at 43 years old, I'd missed the boat by at least a couple years.

WITHOUT EVEN MEETING ME IN PERSON OR EXAMINING ME...

Yet even he confessed his own mother had a surprise baby at 48 years old.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At my recent miscarriage follow-up, my OB [obstetrical] nurse practitioner was very positive about my TTC [trying to conceive] again.
When I mentioned I wish I was a bit younger, she said she has two current patients who are 44 and 45 years old, both with healthy pregnancies.
Fertility Forum Roll Call:
Kathleen (43 years old), husband (37 years old), daughter (23 years old), son (19 years old), our first baby with my current husband is due August 8th
Charlotte (45 years old), husband (45 years old), twelveth child due November 11th
Nancy (44 years old) husband (41 years old), son (2 years old), another baby due September 19th
Dina (45 years old), I'm due this Monday - it's a boy!
Ann (45 years old), husband (40 years old), son (10 years old), daughter (5 years old), due September 30th - It's a girl!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I will be 44 years old within days of delivering this baby.

Iwill be trying again shortly after my six weeks check up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
45 years old was a great milestone for me...
Pregnant with my daughter... my first pregnancy...
So I keep holding on to that as my inspiration for my second pregnancy at 47 years old!
TODAY'S BOOK SUGGESTION:
Image: Girl Walks into a Bar . . .: Comedy Calamities, Dating Disasters, and a Midlife Miracle, by Rachel Dratch. Publisher: Gotham; 1st ed., 1st Ptg edition (March 29, 2012)Girl Walks into a Bar . . .: Comedy Calamities, Dating Disasters, and a Midlife Miracle
by Rachel Dratch
-- Her career at a low point, Rachel Dratch suddenly had time for yoga, dog-sitting, learning Spanish - and dating. After all, what did a forty-something single woman living in New York have to lose?
Resigned to childlessness but still hoping for romance, Dratch was out for drinks with a friend when she met John.
Handsome and funny, after only six months of dating long-distance, he became the inadvertent father of her wholly unplanned, undreamed-of child, and moved to New York to be a dad.
With riotous humor, Dratch recounts breaking the news to her bewildered parents, the awe of her single friends, and the awkwardness of a baby-care class where the instructor kept tossing out the f-word.
Filled with great behind-the-scenes anecdotes from Dratch's time on SNL, Girl Walks into a Bar is a refreshing version of the happily ever after story that proves female comics - like best sellers Tina Fey and Chelsea Handler - are truly having their moment.
About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
