My grandmother had 2 friends who had babies at 49

My grandmother had two dear friends who had babies at 49, long after their other children were born. This was in small town Saskatchewan in the early 60's, these pregnancies were unplanned, and both women were apparently quite embarrassed about it!! They each had healthy girls, a couple of years older than me, while their much older siblings are friends of my parents.

When I got pregnant naturally last June at 44.5 the Fertility Clinic staff was shocked because I wasn't fitting in their stats... and when it happened again in September they couldn't believe me and thought I was menopausal because I had missed my period! I wish western medicine could be more intuitive. Biology can't always be confirmed by numbers!

My Grandmother had my uncle at 46 - naturally - the condom broke - with her second husband who wanted her to have another baby after my uncle was born . She choose not to have any more by using protection. Hope this isn't TMI - My mil has her 11th at 44. She didn't have anymore because she went into menopause at 46.

I now have two beautiful babies.. a boy who is 2.5 years old and a little girl who is nine months old. I had my son when I was 44 yrs. old and my daughter when I was 46! I overcame a lot of bad news from doctors, who most of them told me I was too old and I should use an egg donor. That wouldn't have worked because I kept losing my babies...I had 7 miscarriages.

A woman age 47 whose menses stopped 2 years prior & was on HRT. She had no symptoms of PG, at a Drs appt. found out she was 6 months PG. She and her husband had no genetic testing as they found this to be a truly miraculous event gave birth to a healthy 5lb 6oz girl. Full term and it was their first child and first PG, they were told they would never have children. She gave birth vaginally too which her OB said defied all odds. In fact her OB said her whole story defied odds, she said this birth made her month!
