Another acquaintance of mine had her 2 children naturally at 46 and 48! No help at all.

Laurel's former babysitter had an "oops" baby at 43. A former secretary at my office, after YEARS of trying and making it a good part of the way through menopause (early menopause runs in her family), had an "oops" baby at ~44.

This will not be my last one! I will be 44 within days of her birth. Dh and I plan to try again right after little Avery is born...and maybe, we will try again after that.

I just saw a post below where a lady had her 1st baby at 44 with ivf and is now pregnant at 45 with her second ivf baby. So it DOES happen.

Go to the Pregnant Over 40 board. I just checked in there and there are a number of women 43 & 44 years old who are having healthy pregnancies. Some I read with high FSH levels and IUI or IVF.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
