Assumed at 46 I wouldn't conceive naturally

Hello older Moms to be - I just found out I am pregnant, and what a surprise! I have two teenage children from a previous marriage and just assumed that at the ripe old age of 46 I wouldn't conceive naturally.
Well I did! Anyone as old as I am out there? I'm excited but scared.

I've posted before, but I am 44 and have been trying for the past few months using Follistim and an IUI [intra-uterine insemination].
We had our first IUI on 11/1 which wasn't successful. We had our second IUI on 11/25, and I took a pregnancy test yesterday morning which was positive -- and a second one last night (a different brand), and it also was positive.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.

These posts give me some hope. I just turned 47, have had 2 mc at 41and 45 and 2 unsuccessful IUIs. Met with my RE today who wasn't encouraging and wants me to consider a donor egg. I just feel like I can't give up hope- both of my other pregnancies were unplanned. We're going to keep trying IUI, there must be one good egg left.
