I'm 44 & due in January

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Friday, June 27, 2008 | 2 comments

I'm 44, and due in January. This is my second child. My daughter is 15.

When we first went to the stores looking at all the baby stuff, people assumed it was my daughter that was pregnant... What a shame, just tells you where our world is at.

My husband will be 46 when Glenda is born, I think I'm going to make shirts for her that say "no, these aren't my grandparents!" LOL

On a good note, my husband has a man he works with that just went on social security, they pay his son as well because he is 18 and still in high school.... HA!

My sister is 45 and just had her 6th. He wasn't planned, but what a sweetie and a blessing to the entire family.

My sister's oldest is a sophomore in college. She and her husband celebrated their 25th anniversary 3 months after the baby was born!

She has a pretty 15 year old daughter and that has been the only hard thing... Many people have assumed that the baby is the daughter's.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
