I am 44 & due in March with twins

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Thursday, November 15, 2007 | 1 comments

I am 44 and due in March with twins. These are our 1st. I think I am older and wiser, and more ready than I've ever been! We declined all the tests because no matter the outcome, we will keep them. We are just so happy, I try not to let other people's comments bother me, most people are very supportive and happy for us. So far the pregnancy has been going great with no problems! Think positive and stay healthy

I am 43 and am about 8 weeks pregnant. I too will be 44 at delivery. I have 2 precious little boys, age 6 and almost 4 (November 21). I have had 2 miscarriages since my youngest boy, and have just felt like my family was not complete. I am petrified!! I had a sono 2 weeks ago, and they saw a heartbeat so that is good, but I am not out of the woods.

I am pregnant again at age 45 in September. I has my 4 child last May. Not sure what I should do.

I am 44 and have a 2 year old little boy. He is the love of my life. I just found out that I am pregnant again and am thrilled. You shouldn't feel "too old" - your baby will bring you so much joy.

I talked to a friend of mine today who has a little boy, age four. I boldly asked her how old she was when she had him. (What nerve!) She said she conceived him when she was 44 and had him at age 45. She had had five miscarriages prior to him. That's something I can relate to.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
