I am pregnant again at 45

Hi, I am pregnant again at age 45 in September. I had my 4th child last May. Not sure what I should do.

Older sister is pregnant at 44! Her second. They just seem like one of those "perfect families" that has so many good things come to them. Granted, my sister had a miscarriage back in January, so it's encouraging that she got pregnant again and is 4 months along. Nearly all genetic testing is done and things look really good and healthy. I just called her house to speak to my niece (she just started first grade) and my brother-in-law says my sister is out buying maternity clothes!

Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners work with all kinds of women (successfully) throughout their forties. I am my acupuncturist's oldest in her practice trying -- she has simply not had anyone my age want to. The oldest woman who conceived with her so far was 49.

A friend of mine (I know her well enough to know she was not "hiding" IVF or DE from me) conceived her second child naturally at 44 and gave birth at 45. She had one child at 39 and then one miscarriage, then her son. She did eat lots of nuts and seeds and is very healthy, but did nothing at all in the medical line.

I conceived my son naturally at the age of 43, and gave birth to him 3 weeks before my 44th birthday. I did conceive naturally also at the age of 42, but sadly miscarried.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
