Elizabeth -- I am 45 years old, having my fourth child...

I was 35 years old when I had my third child...

During my third pregnancy, I tried out at five months for women’s professional baseball, and I made it!

Three months after the baby was born, I was in spring training.

I now just finished a season in the men's baseball league in September, and I'm due again in June.

Baby is fine, two times above a normal baby's arm and leg length, very active and healthy.

Right now I'm coaching Fastpitch softball, helping out with my son's baseball, and practicing (only) baseball...

Just finished coaching kid's basketball, and I have to be in shape by November for the Women’s Baseball World Series.

Plus organizing girls baseball, and I also work 40 hours a week.

Whew, I feel great! and healthy... no problems.

The key is to stay active, healthy, don't smoke... Maybe a social drink now and then, and plenty of exercise... Drink a lot of water.

You're only as old as you let yourself be!

Charlotte -- Hi, I had my fifth (son) in January of 2000, when I was nearly 41 years old.

Now I am pregnant with my sixth child, and I will be 45 years old at the time of my baby's birth.

Going for an ultrasound tomorrow, to see if there is more than one baby.

I've been reading that age of mom along with many pregnancies can result in multiples.

This will be my sixth baby, but my ninth pregnancy, which also increases the incidence of multiples - anyone also hear that and/or expecting more than one?

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.

I am 42.5 years old and my BF and I had a romantic night before I left for training in Ca. Low and behold....1 time without protection and last night i got a positive test! OMG! not something I expected! I am somewhat in shock. The one thing I can say is when you map out your fertility cycle, we did it the day before the slimy stuff comes around day 14 (that's what the sperm like to swim in) I just remember wiping it the day after thinking well it couldn't happen!! YEAH!!!! It can!!!

Hi Ladies, I am 44 and will be 45 at time of delivery. This is my third child and I am now at 13 weeks with all signs good. This was a natural conception. I had two miscarriages last year and did not think I could become pregnant again. I know I would have a lifelong regret if I did not at least try for another child. After prayer, much consideration, and risk assessment, I knew trying was right for me as did my husband (second marriage). While I know we still have a long haul, my first two children are thrilled (10 and 7 yrs) and we have faith this pregnancy will go to term. At least I know I tried. Thanks for a great support site. In my search I found so many horrible things written by people who criticize women getting pregnant at our ages (especially Sarah Palin criticism). I wish many blessing to each of you on your journey.

I am 44 and 12 weeks pregnant. An ultrasound yesterday said the baby is ok! I got married at 43 for first time, and was really scared. The IVF doctors didn't want to help me (because I was 44), and while they were stalling, we got pregnant. I have been very scared, reading all of the online negativity (statistics), and also negativity from friends, doctors, its very hard. what is the truth? I took acupuncture, and prayed to G-d alot. Also, I was reading a good book! Its been hard--but its happening!!

    Dear ladies,

I had my first child at 35 and then waited thinking I would get pregnant again right away as I had with my first. Well, it didn't happen that way. I suffered two miscarriages but kept trying. I knew I wasn't ready to give up. At 41, I conceived naturally and at 42, delivered an 8 pound, 8 ounce baby boy. It was so worth the wait.

Keep the faith! My positive thoughts and prayers to all!

I was married at 30, divorced at 38. My ex and I did not want children. My current husband and love of my life have been trying for four years. Did a few rounds of artficial insemenation. I concieved naturally 2 years ago and miscarried at 8 weeks. I have had no success since. I will be turning 44 in a few weeks. Not sure it is possible but looking for some success stories for hope. Thank you

Hi, I am 43 and want to have a child also. I am in the military and no time is a good time in there. I have been putting it off now for 10 years and finally decided that it is now or never. I will be 44 in a few months and want to be a Single Mother by Choice. I am scared, for many reasons. One, getting back in shape after the birth; two, health risks; three how to choose the right donor, etc. I wish I had someone that I could talk to, but I am in it alone. I would love to hear some words of encouragements.

Don't be scared and stay positive. After all the dire predictions about age and egg quality, my hubby and I (we met in our late 30s only) decided to have a first IVF with my own eggs at age 43 (2 months before my 44 birthday). That very first IVF produced only 2 follicles! But the Thai doctor told me it takes only one to work. So we continued with the process. He was able to retrieve and successfully fertilise both eggs. Both were inseminated back. I become pregnant. My very first IVF attempt. We now have a 14 month old healthy girl. I am going for a new IVF round next month as a 46th birthday present to myself! Good luck to all of us. Miracles happen everyday!
