A friend of mine conceived at 47. She had a wonderful 2 hour labour, and a gorgeous healthy baby girl. There is hope for you. Don't let the doctors freak you out.

I am 21 weeks with my 4th child, and will be 44 when he arrives in September. My daughter was born when I was 42, and she was a healthy 9lb 4ozs. My first son was born when I was 30, and the second son at 32.

All 3 are very healthy, and am quite sure the next one will be too. (He's already measuring like he will outweigh the girl!) I didn’t have an amnio with the little girl, and chose not to this time either, because all blood work and ultrasounds showed everything was normal, so the High-Risk specialist says there is no need to see him again and I can continue with my regular OB.

I feel that most literature regarding older moms is very negative. I am 44 years old, and thrilled to be pregnant with my 2nd child after many miscarriages. Let's be more positive for a change!

I am 45 years old and pregnant. I went to get my cholesterol checked and had not had a proper period so my doctor suggested a pregnancy test. My doctor rang me to tell me the news at 7.30 in the morning. I have a baby through egg donation who is 9 months old, and I had been infertile for years. I will be 46 years old when I am 4 months pregnant. My husband and I had had sex twice in the six months prior. I never thought it would happen, and we were not trying.
