His colleagues' wife is expecting at 51
My husband came home to tell me that one of his colleagues' wife is expecting. He is a newly retired OB at age 69, and his wife is........... Drumroll........51. And I KNOW her. Not well enough to call up and freak out, but this is someone I actually know. Not one of those stories in a tabloid. I've attended functions with her. Spontaneous pregnancy.

Just met a woman today - and she told me her friend got pregnant at age 56 completely out of the blue - she had only just met the man!!! At first she was in shock because she had never thought about any kind of long term relationship with this guy - but when she became pregnant she changed her mind and they have been together quite a few years now and very happy!
Just goes to show - you never know what the universe may have in store for you! Even when you are not even trying! Just wanted to share that story with you!

Both my grandmothers had their last children well in to their 40's (obviously without medical intervention).

I had daughter at 41/2 years old and then another pregnancy at 44, when my daughter was 2. My husband is younger and French too (37). My daughter just turned 6, and I haven’t given up though no further conceptions, and tried assisted conception. I think that most of the pregnancies in mid-late forties occur naturally, so if you have to option of TTC naturally, that is good too.
