I'll be 48 when the baby arrives
It is natural to be scared, especially after reading the statistics for women over 40 getting pregnant. I am 47 and am 16 weeks pregnant. (Not planned) I'll be 48 when the baby arrives if all goes well.
We will not do any pre natal testing except for a targeted ultrasound next month. I'm scared, but I believe everything is in God's hands. I have 5 living children, miscarried in 1987 and miscarried with my last pregnancy at 18 weeks in 1993.
We haven't told anyone yet, I still scared I'm going to lose this child. Keep us in your prayers.

My doctor told me of two women he delivered babies for that were over 46 years old. He told me both were healthy babies & natural. One was after over 17 years of trying, including fertility treatments, which did not take. Then it happened naturally.
The other was after a women had breast cancer and underwent chemo. A few years later she thought she was going through menopause. When your baby is meant to be - it comes.

My doctor told me of two amazing women he had under his care, both over 47 and both had perfect babies and both doing well today. Someone once told me "we don't keep dropping eggs for nothing and there is a reason we have so many" .

If it helps, I just had my fifth child at age 47 (my other four children are adults or nearly so). I had him last month, and he's perfectly wonderful, and doesn't appear to have any problems.
The only thing that went "wrong", and it wasn't bad at that, was that I had gestational diabetes, which was discovered in the latter part of my pregnancy (when the doctors screen for diabetes). I had to watch what I ate, and took insulin.
My baby weighed 9 lbs. 2.2 oz. (my next to smallest baby, by the way), and was 21 1/2 in. long.

Also, if it helps, my Spanish grandmother had children in her late 40's/early 50's, so it's possible it can happen for you, too.

You Can Get Pregnant in Your 40's
I am hopeful and inspired by others' posting. I conceived a healthy baby via IVF at 44 years old and lost him at 5 months from a weak cervix. This was certainly a miracle conception and a great loss for us.
We have recently tried another IVF and conceived twins, losing them at 7-9 weeks.
We will try another IVF with my 'own eggs' at 46 years old. It's financially and emotionally stressful-but we are willing to give it a try before we try donor eggs. Please pray for our success. We're looking for a happy outcome like so many other women on this site. Thanks-T
