My doctor delivered 10 babies this year to women over 44

[My doctor] also encouraged me by telling me that she delivered 10 babies this past year to women over the age of 44.

I was listening to the radio and there's a lady on the phone who, she and her husband stopped practising contraception, started charting and (with 2 grown children) now have a 4 year old, a 2 year old and she's pregnant.... and 46 years old! Which means she was 42 and 44 when she had her 4 and 2 year old...

I knew a woman years ago, who had her first at 41, her second at 44 and twins at 50! I'm sure the twins were conceived with help but still, it happens. I don't know if she ever had any miscarriages but I do know she smoked up until she got pregnant the first time. Whenever I get discouraged, I think of her. (She used to be an editor for Time magazine and has wrote a couple of books)

Another poster on the Pregnant over 40 board who is over 45! In fact she has had 2 over 40 pregnancies. She will be 46 when she delivers. Just wanted you guys to get some inspiration! I am so inspired by this amazing number of over 44 women getting pregnant. It really does happen girls and much more often than we think!

June, 47, UK - I am currently 11 weeks' pregnant having conceived naturally at the age of 47. I will be 2 months short of my 48th birthday when I deliver.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
