I had my #7 child, at the age of 45

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Monday, August 21, 2006 | 0 comments

I had my #7 child, Aidan, at the age of 45. He is 9 months old now and I am 46. He was conceived naturally after a lot of half-fannied trying. I'd had a miscarriage 4 years prior. I had no invasive testing with Aidan...just the Level 2 ultrasound which showed that all was well. If I do become pregnant again I will do the same. During my pregnancy with Aidan I just had such an overall GOOD feeling that things were fine that I didn't fret too much. - Annie

At the age of 45, I'm pregnant with my seventh child. I have been waiting until we got back our amnio results to start sharing on the board. Our amnio revealed that we are having a healthy baby girl. - Abby

Our oldest mommy thus far was 48, naturally. We definitely have had other intervention free conceptions to mommies 45+ as well.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
