Mom had me at 48 - quite a surprise back in 1961!
I don't know if this will help or not, but my Mom had me when she was 48 and my Father was 53. Quite a surprise to them back in 1961!

I managed to get pregnant at 45 with my own eggs with a natural IUI, but unfortunately miscarried at 10 weeks - but I’m not giving up and if we can share our hopeful, or success stories, that will keep us going!!

I am an older mom. I conceived twins with IVF and then had a surprise pregnancy after that. All in my forties.

After seven cycles of clomid, 1 IUI and four IVFs, at age 40 1/2, I got pregnant with twins. Needless to say, we were ecstatic. Once my beautiful baby girls were born, I became totally engrossed in their care. Fertility was the furthest thing from my mind. When my girls were just over one year old, DH and I took a short vacation to recover from all the sleepless nights spent caring for our twins. I drank wine, stayed up late, even smoked cigars!
Yes, you guessed it. I got pregnant. Our darling son was born when I was 43. In a matter of three years, I went from demoralized fertility patient to exuberant mother of three. I never imagined I could be so blessed. I hope you will be too.

After 7 IVFs almost all back to back and a bunch of 'almost pregnant', I now have a beautiful and healthy baby girl WITHOUT IVF. She is truly a miracle. After the 7th IVF and using PGD, no embryos were viable, so we paid a few thousand dollars to start the adoption process, and even went to a donor egg seminar.
After the 4th or 5th cycle, I also started acupuncture 1-2 times a week, did Yoga for Fertility (a DVD I bought from Amazon), and got a massage once a week to relax. Well, after giving up on IVF, I was able to drink a glass of red wine a couple of times a week (which I missed), and got pregnant and now have our miracle baby. Of course, now I'm nursing and don't drink red wine again, but it's SO worth it.
