I'm Kristin. I had my first child at 47, 2 weeks before my 48th birthday, and am pregnant with my second at age 51, due in September.

I have two friends who got pregnant naturally, with their own eggs, one at 46 and one at 47.

Yesterday I went to have my yearly check-up with my primary ob/gyn person who is a nurse midwife. She said not to give up because she has many older ladies in her group having babies. She has 50 year old who did ivf and will be 51 at delivery. So don't give up - there are medical people who support us.

I am also 45 years old (will be 46 in May) and I underwent an unsuccessful IVF in September of 04 - my 5 embryos did not make it to blast. Now its 5 months later, and I am suddenly pregnant! (natural conception, 4 1/2 weeks at this point).

I turned 45 in July and am 14 weeks pregnant. My youngest son is 24! This is my second marriage and will be the first child for my husband and I together.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
