Not 1, but 2 surprise perimenopause babies - at 47 & again at 48-49!

I remember someone on a Power-Surge thread, once saying that her husband's mother had had not one, but two surprise perimenopause babies--at 47 and then again at 48-49 , if I remember correctly.

Yup, I also know someone that this has happened to! This woman had a menopause baby and she and her husband were raising this child in their 60's and 70's! (He was 10 years older than her.)

While I don't know much about this, but I do know women who have had children from getting pregnant during menopause. They call them surprise packages

My Granny had my Dad when she was 42 in 1935. I wonder why it was okay then and seems to be sort of looked down on now?

My bus driver told me just this morning that her sister in Jamaica just had a baby at 50 after 15 years. She thought she was menopausal and lo behold she is pregnant . So yes it does happen.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
