Thought infertile, got pregnant in mid-40's

My great-aunt thought she was infertile, and got pregnant in her mid-40's. She was so convinced she couldn't have children, she didn't find out she was pregnant until she felt the baby moving and went to the doctor because she thought she was dying. So you never know.

I am Patty, 48 ...mom to Bill 24, James 4, and Matthew 22 months. My husband just turned 50 last week.

We were married Nov. 2001,and wanted to start a family. James was born 4 weeks early, 2 days before our 1st anniversary. We tried again soon after, but Matthew took a bit longer to conceive.

I was also told to use donor eggs, when I went to a fertility clinic for testing.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
