As you have a period you can get pregnant

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Tuesday, August 14, 2007 | 0 comments

The fact is, as long as you have a period, you can get pregnant - and up to a year after your period stops ! I personally know someone who got a surprise blessing after her period stopped. She is now a healthy teenager giving her mom grief.

Thought you'd like to see this story which I found in the classifieds: Wanted -- Mother or grandmother with toddler -- weekday afternoons at my home -- I am a 48 year old mother of a 1 year old toddler (just starting to walk) looking for a play-pal for my daughter. Will pay for your trouble. Please call....

My midwives were very nonchalant about it. They serve clients from 17-48 years old... and 48 just happens to be the oldest mama they've had as a client, not necessarily a limit for them.

I'm 45 and currently 17 days overdue with baby #8; baby #7 was born when I was 40.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
