At 45y, we found out we are pregnant
I had a miscarriage at 42 years of age. The doctors told me I only had a 2 percent chance of getting pregnant, so we gave up. Last week, at 45 years of age, we found out we are pregnant. This time, I'm nauseous, and have all the symptoms.
We were going to do IVF but they said it was only a 10 percent chance. We are so excited, we believe God has blessed us and now realize doctors can't always predict the future.

Don't worry if your CVS is not as positive as you would like. Some of the numbers are skewed since not too many people have babies over 40 or consent to take the test. I had just slightly better odds for downs at age 44. I have a beautiful (normal...whatever that is!) 17 month old little girl!
Please pray for me. I am pregnant at age 46 (with my 7th) ...............so much for the 1% chance of becoming pregnant without IV.

I have a friend who is 45 years old, and have twins two weeks ago. Everything went fine and they went full term. They are healthy.

Hello - I am 44, soon to be 45 on Valentine's Day. We found out a few weeks ago that we, too, are going to have another baby. Although it came as a surprise to us, our other children are 25, 23, 22, 20, 19, and 5. We are thrilled.

My grandmother had ten children -- her last three children came when she was 40, 42, and 44. Please be assured of one thing: not one of those children came out with Down's Syndrome -- every one of those girls were absolute spit-fires (just like their mother) -- and my mother and aunts were born in 1936, '38, and '40, before all of these medical procedures could make her become consumed with all of this worry.
