Delivering next week age 44: I have a 20 year old and a 17 year old. It's been a long time since I've had children. I had my tubes tied and did IVF. I was able to conceive with my own egg, however the last attempt I only had 4 eggs transferred at day three with ICSI that took.
Update: I had a bleeding episode on Monday morning and has to go to the emergency room and had a c-section Monday. Alyna weighed 3 lbs 11 oz at birth and currently weighs 3lbs 6 ozs. She is beautiful.

I will tell you that my best friend's mom had her at 42 (she's the first) and twins at 45 (45 years ago, obviously she had no help)
Also, my grandmother had my mom (an only child) at 42 and she was epileptic. So it does happen...

At least I know 2 people who naturally conceived at the age of 49 and 50.

A good friend of mine was 48 when she had her little girl! One girl and nine boys.
By the way I was told my eggs were showing age and my chances of getting pregnant were slim. Baby [is] 1 month old yesterday! I did use progesterone cream, over the counter, then vaginally as soon as I knew I was pregnant until 13 weeks pregnant. I [tend] to run low numbers. - Dana

I am 46 years old, will be 47 when baby arrives, and just found out I am expecting #14 a few weeks ago. I thought I was done and was struggling thinking I would never have another baby again. I was doing the pre menopausal thing, skipping periods, weird periods you name it. Also my youngest is almost 3 years old and I have never gone that long and not been pregnant. So surprise, surprise here I am and loving it. - Laurie

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.

I have two beautiful children-ages 3 (in Nov. 2006) and 7 and a half. I have had four miscarriages (two, then my son was born, then two more and my daughter was born). I (we) would love to have another and have been trying for 2 plus years. I've had numerous tests and my "insides" are fine. We checked into IVF w/ a donor egg but the cost is outragious-20,000 plus bucks. All I ever hear are negative stories about women in their forties probably won't be able to get pregnant. The stories here are very refreshing. I sometimes think that I should give up on trying. Any suggestions? Thanks!
