So yes, it is quite possible. I am not even the oldest new mom I know. There is a woman at work who has just had her first baby and she is 46.

It happens. I conceived for the first time at 44 and delivered a few months after my 45th birthday. I'm 46 now with a beautiful, perfect 15-month-old. This week I just found out I'm pregnant again! - Lisa

I'm 47 and have a beautiful 19 month old daughter. My husband and I are trying for another! When I mention having another baby to my family they give me this look like "whatever for?". I just don't let it bother me, and neither should you. Best of luck to you... -- Charmaine

My mother was 45 when she had me in 1968. If she wasn't too old then, you are definitely not too old now. Sure everyone gave her a hard time but I am glad she did not listen to them!

Only one person in my family of 8 knows I want to get pregnant. I am 44, newly married and have no children. After trying to conceive for a year, taking Clomid for 4 months and doctors basically saying I have no chance of getting pregnant after 40...I tested positive today and cried with joy!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
