Welcome to menopause at 45! 10m later I am pregnant!
I am in total and complete shock. I was peri-menopausal, had lots of symptoms even had hot flashes. I went to the gyno and was told, "Welcome to menopause!"
Well, here I am 10 months later and I am pregnant!! I got pregnant during peri-menopause!!! I am 45 years old, never been able to get pregnant before, not even with fertility treatments. I had given up all hopes of ever getting pregnant and my husband and I have started making plans for our retirement. I went to the doctor this morning because I could not believe that I am pregnant and they confirmed the pregnancy. - Susan

Welcome to “the surprises and blessings of life"! I am 45 also but not with my first. By the way I am now in the middle of a critical pregnancy due to having an amniocentesis that ruptured my membranes. Now at 21 weeks my baby looks great and shows no markers for anything wrong, but I am now carrying him in very little fluid which is dangerous and will most likely make me deliver preterm. - Kerry

Julinda [44] - I'll be 30 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and so far everything has been just great and the doctors have settled down a bit although they're still treating me like I am bound to have some kind of problem! I had my first at 37 so was no spring chicken even then, but this time I have spent time thinking, "I'll be 62 when this baby graduates from high school." Well, hopefully he and my other son will be good students and get lots of scholarships so I can retire at a reasonable age!
