The embryologist said he has seen some women in their 40's who used donor dgg (DE) to get pregnant went on to get pregnant with their own eggs.

I'm 45 and my husband is 52. We have a 13 month IVF baby and figured our fertility days were over (my age, his MF [male factor]) Surprise, I am naturally pregnant. It took me 2 weeks after AF was missing to even contemplate the possibility. Didn't believe the HPT, but the blood-work and ultrasound don't lie. Must have been a beautiful egg and determined swimmer to pull this off. Won't my RE be surprised?

A friend of mine got her first child when she was 40 and her second child when she was 45. She got pregnant one more time, when she was 47, but then she had a miscarriage. The child she got when she was 45 was naturally conceived - and not even planned!! So there is still hope for many of us...

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
