I am 45 and pregnant, second time in 5 months. All conceived naturally. I am now ten weeks. Also have a 4 year old. --- Chery

I'm in my 8th week of my 6th pregnancy. I'm 47. ~~~C.

I know a woman who had only one child at age 49 or 50, her husband was in his mid-50's. The baby was complete surprise, they had been married for many years. They were so funny, I remember they bought way too many baby clothes, then gave the extra clothes to me when I was pregnant with my first boy. ~~~ Joyce

MYTH: Your fertility declines dramatically after age 35.

Although it's true that your fertility declines as you age, you still have an excellent chance of having a baby even if you're past the reproductive world's magic age of 35. According to the National Centre for Health Statistics, you have a 96% chance of conceiving within one year if you're under 25, an 86% if you're between 25 and 34, and a 78% chance if you're between the ages of 35 and 44.

I just turned 44, am currently 15 weeks pregnant & had 4 previous miscarriages. I have a 14 year old daughter from a previous marriage. ~~~ Carrie

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
