It wasn't unusual in our grandparents age to have children when they were 50 yrs old.

I also know a lady whose mother and father tried for years to have a baby and she was finally born when her mother was 46 years old. This lady is early 40s now.

After trying for 27 cycles, I'm fair "keen" with all the jargon going on and I do remember him saying that he had a 44 year old preggo last time I was in to see him there....

I did forget to add that I heard at work that a woman is pregnant and is 52 yrs old. Will keep you posted on how that goes.

Found out I’m pg on 6/1 (about 6 weeks since last period). DH is shocked and appalled - this was definitely not planned. DD is seven (will be eight in Dec) and DH is not really entertaining the idea of another - I have mixed feelings. (age 46)

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
