I'm 7 weeks pregnant & 46 years old.

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and 46 years old. I've been in shock for 2 weeks. I have a 14 year old and a 9 year old, along with a 21 year old step son. My husband is 53 years old.

I was surprised to find out pregnant at 45! I have an 10 year old (I was on clomid.) We actually were not trying to get pregnant. So I was surprised without any drugs we were expecting. I was excited but yet very anxious and going through some awful hormonal changes.

My name is Laurel and I am currently 12 weeks pregnant. My husband, Steve and I thought we were done with the baby making but apparently nature thought otherwise. We have six beautiful children ranging in age from 20 to 6 years old. I am definitely dealing with the consequences of being older. Being preggers at 44 is definitely not the same as being pregnant at 24. The morning sickness has been all day long sickness, I pee every 10 minutes and I have been exhausted

I, too, worried about what people would say/think about me being pregnant at 45 years old. I have not heard ONE rotten comment! In fact, I get asked all the time if this is my first baby! Ha! I love it!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
