I gave birth to twin boys on August 23, 2004 at the age of 46 years and 8 months. Never listen to anyone who says you are too old to have children. I had a completely uneventful pregnancy and delivered the boys by c-section at 38 weeks weighing in at 6lbs.9ozs. and 7lbs. I also have a daughter who is 29 months. Although I'm exhausted the boys are healthy and doing great.

Anyway, I'll be 46 this month....I am at 13 weeks [pregnant].

Once in a while, I’ll hear of someone who knew someone who had a baby at 48+, but I’ve never actually met one or talked with one.

My grandmother gave birth at 46 in 1936. Friends of my mom had kids at 48 & 52 in the 1960s/70s. You know there were no DEs then.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
