DH has a friend whose aunt had a healthy baby at 51. This was many years ago, so it was definitely her OWN eggs.

Also, my sister works with a woman who decided at 45 that she wanted to have a baby. She went off BCP's, got pregnant the following month and delivered a healthy girl.

I was so down this morning and had gone for a walk along the beach and a coffee with my DD and just unloaded my doubts about turning 45 and ttc. A lady asked if she could park her baby next to us as we where at a table near the door when she came back she sat at the table next to us it was obvious she was an older mum I told her I was after what she had she told us she was 45 yrs old yep my age! I believe that was God's appointment that meeting he was saying "What problem?"

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
