I'm 47 & pregnant for the 6th time

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Friday, January 19, 2007 | 0 comments

If it helps, I'm 47, and am pregnant for the sixth time. I have four children from a previous marriage (all adults, or nearly so), and my current husband, too, is younger than me. Even so, I must admit this pregnancy came as a surprise. I'm at the end of it (my estimated due date is Feb. 17)

45 and pregnant again - Wow, missed my period 7 days ago and took a home pregnancy test (Yes, positive). I have two children 10 and 13. My feelings are all over the place.

I am excited, concerned, scared and yes worried about what other people are going to say. I have not told anyone yet....... first step is to see my doctor.

I had my son 16 years ago with no problem, and now I am 44 years old and got pregnant on our first try, naturally. I think everyone is different, but always check with your doctor.

I am 45 years old and expecting my 3rd child. I have 2 daughters, 23 & 10 years old. This time we're having a boy! What I thought was early menopause, turned out to be a baby!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
