Pregnant 49 year old, not trying to get pregnant

I went in for my week 35 check-up and DH wanted to know if I was the oldest patient she had ever delivered (at 43)... and she said, "oh, no - in fact I have a 49 year old who is delivering not long after you." This 49 year old was, of course, not trying to get pregnant but if she can do it and so many other 40 somethings too, just don’t give up hope

I know it's possible because my mom had a child at 45 and that was in the 60's. More power to us all.

Holly Hunter, age 47, is pregnant with twins. She is reported to be about 4 months along.

Years back my mom knew someone who was close to 50. She was pregnant at her oldest daughter's wedding!!! Keep up the positive thinking.

There is woman who posts occasionally at Over 40 Babies who had a set of twin girls in Jan. 2001 at the age of 49, BUT WAIT!!!! As an encore she gave birth to a second set of twin girls on Christmas Eve 2001, at the age of 50. Simply stopped using birth control at age 43 "to see what would happen", she also has a 28 and a 24 year old daughters, both gave birth this past fall too, one of them to twins.
